A Challenge to Relinquish Comparison

Every Friday I like to reflect on the week and what I learned.

This week's resounding life lesson, if you will, is to stop being so critical of myself, of my body, of my this, of my that, and just really embrace being a daughter of Christ. Which means I'm already approved, washed white as snow, forgiven, beautiful in God's eyes...no task or action on my behalf can change that.

I read this a couple of days ago from a really great daily devotional, Jesus Calling, where the author approaches encouraging us through speaking as if Jesus was speaking:

"Stop judging and evaluating yourself, for this is not your role.
Above all, stop comparing yourself with other people.
This produces feelings of pride or inferiority; sometimes, a mixture of both.
I lead each of My children along a path that is uniquely tailor-made for him or her.
Comparing is not only only wrong; it is also meaningless.

Don't look for affirmation in the wrong places: your own evaluations, or those of other people.
The only source of real affirmation is My unconditional Love.
Many believers perceive Me as an unpleasable Judge, angrily searching out their faults and failures.
Nothing could be farther from the truth!
I died for your sins, so that I might clothe you in My garments of salvation.
This is how I see you: radiant in My robe of righteousness.
When I discipline you, it is never in anger or disgust; it is to prepare you for face-to-Face fellowship with Me throughout all eternity. Immerse yourself in my loving Presence.
Be receptive to My affirmation, which flows continually from the throne of grace."

It is challenging not to compare my blog with other blogs, but just as I have come to at least TRY to accept who I am as a child of God, I must do the same for my blog. My space on the internet is truly a reflection of my heart and for that I am grateful and honored. It is a delight to use words that can uplift others.How do you use blogs to inspire and motivate you, versus making you feel miniscule, unimportant, devalued?
Are you finding ways to not let jealousy and feelings of inadequacy creep in?

Each day the Lord is giving me more confidence in Him. I am glad and quick to give over to Him any detrimental thoughts that say otherwise!
I think I'm finally getting it!
To be loved by Him,
there is no greater thing.
