All I wanted for my birthday this year was to provide an opportunity for my friends to relax (with me) on our wonderful back patio.
Food, friends, and crafts!
It was perfect.
I didn't go "all out" with paper straws and bunting galore..the draped lights and smiles from my friends were decor enough!
Here is how I am feeling about my heart friends lately. It is from the prayer book One-Minute Prayers for Women by Harvest House Publishers (emphases mine):
There was a time when I followed the steps of those who did not care about Your existence. I emulated their mannerisms, which reflected worldly poise. I am thankful I woke up from this false dream. When I noticed You on the perimeter of life, I knew right away that I had set my sights too low for myself. There was something greater, no, Someone greater to follow.
I thank you for bringing godly people into my life. My path is not always straight. I wander. I take long detours that should be day trips. My friends who know You and fear You with their every breath give me directions back to Your way. They stay true to Your precepts; You stay true to me.
I am a friend to all who fear you, to all who follow your precepts. Psalm 119:63
Thanks for spending the evening with me, girls! Look for thank you cards in your mailboxes, soon!
